Philosophy
In accordance to CMSFQ’s school mission, we view our students as holistic learners through a constructivist and conceptual pedagogy . Our students become the protagonists of their own learning and the teacher is there to facilitate learning. Learning becomes significant to them because it relates to their own interest and needs thus, leading our students to be life-long learners.
Program
1st and 2nd grade children will be lead towards the magic of literacy immersing them in Ecuadorian literature as well as foreign authors.
We develop oral language and written skills through early social studies classes; first, by discovering themselves, then their family, their homes, school and lastly their neighborhood.
We also work with investigation projects where students’ curiosity and opportunities for inquiry are developed.
All of this is done with moral values and experiences which make our living in community easier.

Science
Our Science program is based on Harcourt Brace Science, which presents appropriate themes according to the development stage of the children.
We cover the four main branches of science, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Earth science together with studies about space. |
The Science program's main objective is to encourage curiosity and enthusiasm, which then the children will satisfy predicting, inferring, drawing conclusions and using the scientific method. Moreover, the program places a heavy emphasis on hands on activities as every unit has corresponding experiments and/or activities to tie theory with practice. |
