Counseling

In Early Childhood and Elementary School, the role of counseling is to monitor and assist children in the development and acquisition of necessary social, emotional, and learning skills and attitudes.  At this level, the guidance department puts a particular emphasis on the development of interpersonal skills, self-concept, decision-making and the awareness of learning.

Early Intervention

The Early Intervention Program helps ensure that all children acquire the basic skills necessary to read, write and think mathematically, in both English and in Spanish.  By working with individuals, or groups of children, who are experiencing difficulties or delays in skill acquisition, interventionists frequently remedy problems before they develop into learning disabilities.

Special Needs

All children develop differently, as a result, while developmental timing may vary from child to child, there are certain general guidelines that can be observed. The main idea of the Special Needs program is to give support to all the children that are facing problems in their schooling process

ESL / READING INTERVENTION PROGRAM

The ESL /Reading Intervention Program serves as an academic support for the Early Childhood Intervention Program. The ESL/Reading Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing specialized programs to work with students who are struggling in the regular classroom in language arts, either due to a limited proficiency in English and/or to learning difficulties. The ESL/Reading Program works jointly with the Special Needs Program to provide support in English for students who are having learning problems.
