Our students have many opportunities at Colegio Menor Samborondón to help the communities around them. In this way, they learn that they can use their skills and talents to make a difference in the lives of others.

IT’S IN OUR CURRICULUM 

CONNECTING WITH COMMUNITIES IN NEED

At Colegio Menor Samborondón, our students take responsibility to help society through meaningful interactions with others. We have defined programs within our curriculum for all age groups, where our students must connect what they’re learning with a community in need.


Through local outreach, they can join fundraising and volunteering activities around issues they care about. Our students have fundraised for causes like building a new school; preparing food baskets; cleaning beaches; and creating environmental contests, among other things. Students who are part of the Junior National Honors Society (JNHS) and National Honors Society (NHS) lead many of these community service programs.


Students in Grades 10–12 prepare an entrepreneurship project each year to raise money to build a house in partnership with Ecuador Habitat Foundation. Once the money is collected and donated, they help build the house.

READY TO MAKE A GLOBAL IMPACT

Our students align their projects, activities, and initiatives with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) so their efforts contribute to a larger global vision of protecting and changing our planet for the better.

We additionally expand our students’ global awareness by working with UNICEF to introduce your child to some of the planet’s most pressing issues. During our World’s Largest Lesson, our Student Summit, and our Global Challenges, we challenge them to do something to help our planet.


Our Middle and High School students participate in national and international Model United Nations conferences to debate global issues. They  propose solutions, while practicing their public speaking and critical thinking skills.
